FELLOW OF THE INDIAN SOCIETY FOR VETERINARY SURGERY (FISVS)

(Citation and Certificate)
(For overall contributions in the field of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology)

  • Applicant aspiring to become Fellow of the Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery should have at least 20 years of professional experience of which 10 years should be active in the field of surgery, anaesthesiology and radiology.
  • Applicant for the Fellow ISVS should be a life member of the Society for at least 10 years.
  • The candidate should have completed minimum five years as Associate Professor.
  • He/ She should have participated in at least ten ISVS symposium.
  • He/ She should have published at least five research papers in Indian Journal of Veterinary Surgery besides other journals.
  • The applicant should have high professional acumen with teaching innovations, quality scientific publications, authored books, patents, award and honours to his/ her credit.
  • Life members who have retired from active service may be bestowed honorary fellowship.
  • A regular fellow shall receive a citation and certificate of honour. An honorary member shall receive certificate of honour. In both cases, the award shall be awarded by the President of the Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery at Annual Conferences of the Society

 

ASSOCIATE FELLOW OF THE INDIAN SOCIETY FOR VETERINARY SURGERY (AFISVS)

(For overall contributions in the field of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology)

  • Associate Fellowship is open to serving Young Teachers/ Scientists/ Veterinarians below 45 years of age, working in the discipline of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology in India. Age will be calculated on basis of last date of application.
  • The applicant/ candidate should have at least 8 years of working experience and standing Life membership in the society and should have attended at least five conferences of the society.
  • The selection of the Associate Fellows will be done by the committee constituted by the Executive Secretary. The final decision for selection will be with the President and Executive Secretary.
  • The criteria for selection will be academic/ scientific excellence based on scientific contributions as reflected by publications, clinical skill sets, processes and technologies etc.
  • The applicant should not have any inquiry or criminal case pending against him/her.
  • The application should be accompanied by a bank demand draft in favour of Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery (ISVS) and payable at the Society Headquarters (Hisar) for a sum of Rs. 2000/- (non-refundable) towards application fee.
  • Application which is not in the prescribed format or which gives incomplete or incorrect information is liable for outright rejection.
  • If any information is found to be incorrect at any stage of life, after selection of Associate Fellow, the ISVS has the right to withdraw the Associate Fellowship.
  • Duly completed Application Form (hard copy and soft copy) should be forwarded by two Fellows of ISVS and reach the Society Headquarters (Hisar) before last date.
  • A regular associate fellow shall receive a citation and certificate of honour. The award shall be awarded by the President of the Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery at Annual Conferences of the Society.
 
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

(For overall contributions in the field of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology)

  • Dr J M Nigam lifetime achievement award for excellence in Ruminant Surgery
  • Dr Amresh Kumar lifetime achievement award for excellence in Anaesthesiology
  • Dr A P Singh lifetime achievement award for excellence in Radiology and Imaging
  • Dr Gajraj Singh lifetime achievement award for excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Dr S C Pathak lifetime achievement award for excellence in Wild & Zoo Animal Surgery

 

  • The Award will be bestowed upon to an eminent personality who is a life member of the society for at least 10 years and has put in at least 20 years of professional service with a minimum of 10 years as Associate Professor/ Equivalent or above.
  • He/ She should have actively participated in at least five ISVS symposium.
  • The person should have high professional acumen with teaching/ research innovations, outstanding contributions in the concerned area as evidenced by quality scientific publications, presentations in conferences/ symposium/ seminars, authored books, patents, award and honours to his/ her credit.
  • Eligible and desirous candidates may submit duly filled application in the prescribed format along with the recommendations of atleast two persons working in the thrust areas to the Executive Secretary. If there are no applications then accreditation committee will suggest the names, from whom bio-data will be solicited. An announcement regarding the Award for Excellence will be made along with other awards in the Symposium brochure, as followed routinely.
  • An accreditation committee shall be appointed to evaluate the biodata, with three life members, the Executive Secretary of the Society shall be Ex-Officio member and shall act as convenor of the committee. The term of office of the Committee shall be of 2 years. Other than the Executive Secretary, no member of the Executive Committee shall be member of the accreditation committee. Accreditation Committee will be approved by General Body. The committee shall recommend the names for approval by Executive Committee and General Body of the Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery.
  • The awardee will deliver a presentation of his/ her works in the area of excellence, its significance, applications etc. before all the delegates attending the annual conference in concerned technical session.
  • The awardee will be honoured with Citation, Certificate, Momento and Shawl during the inaugural function of the annual convention.
 
DR. RATAN SINGH MEMORIAL AWARD

(For overall contributions in the field of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology)

  • The award shall be given biannually in cyclic manner to an individual in recognition for his/ her contributions in the field of Veterinary Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Radiology as a teacher and researcher.
  • The potential nominee should be a life member of the society for atleast 10 years and have attained an age of 50 years.
  • The awardee will be honoured with Citation, Certificate, Memento and Shawl during the inaugural function of the annual convention.
 
DR. I. S. CHANDNA MEMORIAL AWARD

  • The award shall be given biannually in cyclic manner to an individual in recognition for his/ her contributions in the field of Veterinary Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Radiology as a teacher and researcher.
  • The potential nominee should be a life member of the society for atleast 10 years and have attained an age of 50 years.
  • The awardee will be honoured with Citation, Certificate, Memento and Shawl during the inaugural function of the annual convention.
 
DR. R.P.S. TYAGI ORATION AWARD

  • The award shall be given biannually in cyclic manner to an eminent personality who has contributed significantly in the field of Veterinary Sciences/ Health Science/ Animal Resource Development or Rural Development.
  • The potential nominee should be a life member of the society for atleast 20 years.
  • The awardee will be honoured with Citation, Certificate, Memento and Shawl during the inaugural function of the annual convention.
 
DR. P.E. KULKARNI ORATION AWARD

  • The award shall be given biannually in cyclic manner to an eminent personality who has contributed significantly in the field of Veterinary Sciences/ Health Science/ Animal Resource Development or Rural Development.

DR. O. RAMAKRISHNA ORATION AWARD

  • The award shall be given biannually in cyclic manner to an eminent personality who has contributed significantly in the field of Veterinary Sciences/ Health Science/ Animal Resource Development or Rural Development.
  • The potential nominee should be a life member of the society for at least 20 years.
  • The awardee will be honoured with Citation, Certificate, Memento and Shawl during the inaugural function of the annual convention.
 
CERTIFICATE OF HONOUR

(Certificate, Memento and Shawl)
(For successful organization of Annual Congress of ISVS and National Symposium)

  • The award is given to the Organizing Secretary who has successfully organized the ISVS symposium.
  • The award shall be presented annually at the time of annual conference of ISVS.
  • Award winner(s) shall receive a Certificate, Memento and Shawl.
 
TECHNICAL SESSION AWARD

(Gold Medal: Certificate and Medal)      (Appreciation Award: Certificate)
(For Best Oral/Poster Presentation during the Technical Session)
There are two technical session awards which are given in each session for best oral/ poster presentation.

  • Gold Medal is given to the author(s) of paper and acquired first position during the technical session. It comprises of a medal and certificate
  • Appreciation Award is given to the author(s) of paper and acquired second position during the technical session. It comprises of a certificate.

There are eleven technical sessions in ISVS symposium as mentioned below:

  1. Anaesthesiology Session
  2. Radiology and Imaging Session
  3. Ruminant Surgery Session
  4. Equine Surgery Session
  5. Small Animal Surgery Session
  6. Orthopedic Surgery Session
  7. Ophthalmology Session
  8. Wild and Zoo Animal Surgery Session
  9. Avian Surgery Session
  10. Large Animal Poster Session
  11. Small Animal Poster Session
  • The candidate shall be a life member of ISVS.
  • The award shall be presented to all the authors annually at the time of annual conference of ISVS.
  • Gold Medal winner(s) shall receive a medal and certificate, while Appreciation Certificate winner(s) shall receive a certificate.
 
DR. M.R. PATEL BEST FIELD VETERINARIAN AWARD

(Certificate and Medal)

  • The candidate shall be a life member of ISVS.
  • The applicant should be in pre-retirement practice and working as field veterinarian.
  • The work presented should be clinical oriented and related to Veterinary Surgery/ Anaesthesiology/ Radiology.
  • The work presented should have been carried out independently under Indian field conditions.
  • The work should not be part of MVSc/ PhD thesis and should not have been carried out at academic institutions.
  • The work presented for the award should not have been presented for any other award or certificate.
  • The award shall be presented annually at the time of annual conference of ISVS.
  • Award winner shall receive a medal and certificate.
 
BEST CLINICIAN AWARD

(Certificate and Medal)

  • The candidate shall be a life member of ISVS.
  • The applicant should be working as an academician (Assistant Professor and above) in any veterinary/ agriculture university.
  • The work presented should be clinical oriented and related to Veterinary Surgery/ Anaesthesiology/ Radiology.
  • He/ She should present the paper in person at the time of symposium.
  • The work should not be part of MVSc/ PhD thesis and have been carried out at Indian Territory at academic institution.
  • The award shall be presented annually at the time of annual conference of ISVS.
  • Award winner(s) shall receive a medal and certificate.
 
YOUNG SURGEON AWARD

(Certificate and Medal)

  • The candidate shall be a life member of ISVS.
  • He/ She should be aged 35 years and below.
  • The work presented should not be part of the MVSc/ PhD thesis.
  • The award shall be presented annually at the time of annual conference of ISVS.
  • Award winner(s) shall receive a medal and certificate.
 
DR. A.K. BHARGAVA MEMORIAL AWARD

(Certificate and Medal)
(For Best Research Paper published in Indian Journal of Veterinary Surgery)

  • The research articles published in Volume I and II (June and December) will combinedly be considered for the award.
  • The award shall be presented to all the authors annually at the time of annual conference of ISVS.
  • Award winner(s) shall receive a medal and certificate.

 

DR. P.O. GEORGE MEMORIAL AWARD

(Certificate and Medal)
(For Best Clinical Article published in Indian Journal of Veterinary Surgery)

  • The clinical articles published in Volume I and II (June and December) will combinedly be considered for the award.
  • The award shall be presented to all the authors annually at the time of annual conference of ISVS.
  • Award winner(s) shall receive a medal and certificate.
