Dear Esteemed Members and Colleagues,
It is a great honour and privilege to serve as the President of the Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery (ISVS). I am deeply grateful to the members of the Society for their trust and confidence in entrusting me with this responsibility. The Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery has played a pivotal role in advancing the science and practice of veterinary surgery in our country. Over the years, the Society has served as a vibrant platform for surgeons, academicians, researchers, and practitioners to exchange knowledge, promote innovation, and uphold the highest standards of veterinary surgical care. As we move forward, it is essential that we continue to strengthen our commitment to academic excellence, research, and professional collaboration. Rapid advancements in surgical techniques, diagnostic technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches present new opportunities for improving animal health and welfare. Our Society must remain at the forefront of these developments by encouraging scientific dialogue, fostering young talent, and supporting evidence-based practices. I particularly wish to emphasize the importance of mentorship and capacity building among young veterinary surgeons. The future of our profession depends on how effectively we nurture the next generation of professionals and equip them with the skills, ethics, and vision required to meet emerging challenges. During my tenure, I look forward to working closely with the Executive Council, regional chapters, and all members of the Society to further strengthen our academic activities, expand collaborative networks, and enhance the visibility of ISVS at both national and international levels. I extend my sincere appreciation to the editorial team for their efforts in bringing out this newsletter, which serves as an important medium for sharing scientific achievements, institutional updates, and professional milestones of our members. Let us continue to work together with dedication and a shared sense of purpose to advance the field of veterinary surgery and contribute meaningfully to animal health, welfare, and societal well-being.
With warm regards,
Prof. (Dr.) T. K. Gahlot
